SECOND NET-QUBIC SYMPOSIUM

This is the second NET-QUBIC Symposium. We are happy that professor Rob Coppes will present on the use of salivary gland stem cells in head and neck cancer treatment. Furthermore, Femke Jansen will present the findings of her research visit to the Head and Neck 5000 group in Bristol. Dr Vitória Piai, Dr Belinda Thewes, Dr Laurien Buffart and professor Irma Verdonck-de Leeuw will present their research lines in relation to the use of NET-QUBIC data.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Professor Irma Verdonck- de Leeuw is a psychologist, speech pathologist and linguist. She is professor at the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery of the VU University Medical Center, and the Department of Clinical, Neuro- & Developmental Psychology of VU University, Amsterdam.

Professor Rob Coppes is a professor of radiotherapy with focus on the radiation biology of normal tissues at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). In 2015 he received the Bacq-and-Alexander Award of the European Radiation Research Society to an outstanding European researcher to recognize achievements in the field of radiation research.

Femke Jansen, MSc is a health scientist and epidemiologist at the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery of the VU University Medical Centre Amsterdam.

Annette van  Nieuwenhuizen, MD  is a PhD student at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the VU University Medical Centre Amsterdam.

Dr Vitória Piai is a senior researcher at the Donders Centre for Cognition of the Radboud University and the Department of Medical Psychology of the Radboud University Medical Centre, Nijmegen.

Dr Belinda Thewes is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Medical Psychology of the Radboud University Medical Centre, Nijmegen.
